The youngest member of our choir celebrated her birthday last Sunday. It was a surprise as she thought she was only coming to enjoy a delicious breakfast. Little did she know, a cake and eager choir members were waiting for her. Surprise, surprise Carmen, we got you!
It was a joyous treat and fitting for a beautiful person, and just perfect as we were holding our fourth fundraising Breakfast event on that day.
What can we say about Carmen? There is not one bad adjective to describe her. She is one of these people you really enjoy being around it. Rainy day, no problems, Carmen shows up with her most humorous attire. Superb day, she is strolling down the Church halls as if she were a supermodel walking down the runway. Bad day, Carmen is smiling, full of beautiful words to cheer you up. Worried, Carmen has stories to brighten your day. Cry and she will tell you that there is more to life, laugh about it but sometimes, it is ok to cry. It does a soul good.
That’s Carmen. She is nice, fun, perky, gregarious, lovely, gracious, hysterically funny, really, we are not joking, she is witty and warming. We think that deep down, she is a “failed” comedienne. She dreamed about being one in her hay days but it was not to be. She had better things to do. That’s the only explanation we can come up with because she is a riot but good riot, and we are sticking to our story. It is only logical!
As young as she is, you would think that she suffers from the “young people disease syndrome”. Nope, not Carmen! She will be the first one to dismiss that as she is always on the go. Ready for the next battle!
We love you very much!
